ELECTRO & LASER ACUPUNCTURE
ELECTRO ACUPUNCTURE
Electro-acupuncture uses the same needles as a traditional treatment, but with a small electrode attached to them. This electrode provides a gentle and soothing vibration. Electro-acupuncture promotes circulation and relieves pain.
LASER ACUPUNCTURE
Laser acupuncture (LA) involves the use of nonthermal, low-intensity laser irradiation to stimulate acupuncture points, a practice increasingly adopted by acupuncture practitioners. It is often promoted as a safer, pain-free alternative to traditional acupuncture, boasting minimal adverse effects and increased versatility. Additionally, laser acupuncture can be combined with ultrasound devices to further enhance the efficacy of acupuncture treatments.
CUPPING / GUASHA
CUPPING
Cupping works by creating suction on the skin's surface using glass, or plastic cups. This suction pulls the skin and superficial muscle layer upward into the cup, which may cause localized congestion. This process can stimulate blood flow, loosen tight muscles, encourage the release of toxins and stagnant energy from the body, and stimulate the body's natural healing response and promote relaxation. Cupping is often used to alleviate back pain, but can be also used for weight control, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, and insomnia. It is also great for symptoms of the common cold, cough, and asthma.
GUASHA
Gua Sha is a manual healing technique that releases spasms, tension, pain, and stiffness while promoting circulation and enhancing immune function. "Gua" means "scrape" and "Sha" means "sand". By gently scraping the skin's surface, we can effectively address knotted muscles and alleviate discomfort. Additionally, Gua Sha can enhance lymphatic drainage and detoxification, as well as promote relaxation and overall well-being.
TUINA & LINIMENT
TUINA
Tuina is a form of Chinese medical massage that involves various techniques such as rolling, kneading, pressing, brushing, grabbing, and vibrating the channels and meridians associated with deficiencies or blockages. "Tui" means "to push" and "Na" means "to lift”.
LINIMENT
Chinese liniments (external analgesics) including plasters and balms, are herbal remedies applied externally to soothe injured ligaments, ligaments, tendons, and muscles. It works by penetrating the skin and underlying tissues, where it helps to promote blood circulation, reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and support the healing of injuries such as bruises, sprains, and strains. It typically consists of a combination of various natural herbs and oils.
MOXIBUSTION & K-HEALTH
MOXIBUSTION
A Traditional Chinese Medicine technique that involves the burning of moxa, made from dried mugwort leaves. By warming the points and channels, the body’s own healing mechanisms are activated.
